Coltiva works with deep water culture (DWC), nutrient film technique (NFT), and any other hydroponic system built around a reservoir, whether that’s a single tote in a spare room or a multi-tank growroom.

A full setup monitors pH, EC, water level, water temperature, and air temperature and humidity, and can drive up to eight pumps, in any mix of dosing and volume pumps. Those pumps can draw from up to six supply tanks (nutrients, pH adjusters, and fresh water), so Coltiva can mix exactly what your reservoir needs, on its own.

Power cut: every pump is electrically driven, so dosing stops the instant power is lost and can’t resume until power is back. Nothing doses while the unit is off.

Reboot: Coltiva re-checks all of its sensors before it resumes any automatic dosing, so it never acts on a reading taken before the interruption.

Lost Wi-Fi: automatic dosing keeps running. The control unit reads its own sensors and drives its own pumps, so it holds your pH and EC targets whether or not it can reach the internet. What you lose until the connection comes back is the remote half: live readings, notifications, and dosing by hand from the app.

Dosing follows live pH and EC readings and the targets you set in the app, never a blind timer. Coltiva adds a small, measured amount, waits for the reading to respond, and doses again only if the reservoir is still out of range. The dosing pumps are peristaltic, dosing in steps as little as 5 ml, so it nudges the reservoir back into range instead of overshooting it.

The same holds when you dose by hand from the app: you are working from the live reading, in the same small steps.

Yes. Set your pH and EC targets in the app and Coltiva holds the reservoir there on its own, dosing pH+ or pH-, topping up a multi-part nutrient mix as the plants feed, and refilling with fresh water as the level drops. Every action follows a live sensor reading rather than a timer, and stays in the app’s history next to the reading that triggered it.

Automatic dosing needs the pumps for the job: a dosing station for pH or nutrients, a volume pump for fresh water. A sensors-only setup monitors and alerts you instead. Whatever you have connected, you can always take over and run any pump by hand from the app.

Calibrate the pH probe every 3 months, and whenever you fit a new one. The app walks you through it with pH 4 and pH 7 buffer solutions and reports the probe’s health afterwards. EC and temperature sensors drift far less: calibrate the EC sensor when its readings look off. The user manual covers both calibrations step by step.

You have 3 years to claim for faults. Coltiva is sold by Eflix AB, a Swedish company, so every purchase is covered by the Swedish Consumer Sales Act, anywhere in the EU. If anything arrives faulty or stops working as expected, email us and we’ll sort it out. The details are in the terms of sale.
